Coronavirus Update

A Letter from our CEO

Dear Families and Supporters,

The health and well-being of our children and staff are a top priority for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Ventura. Because of that, we have been closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) health issue for the past several weeks. The Center for Disease Control has officially labeled the COVID-19 virus a pandemic. In addition, Dr. Levin, Health Officer with Ventura County Public Health, has declared a local health emergency and has recommended social distancing of 6 feet. Yesterday, the VUSD announced that they will be closed from March 16th-April 10th in an effort to slow the spread of the virus.

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Ventura locations will also be closed to members and other community partners or facility usage groups from March 16th-April 10th to maximize the efforts of the school district and to keep our kids and community safe. Social distancing of children is almost an impossible task. We do not take the decision to close lightly and realize the significant challenges that this will present for many of us. We understand the heightened level of concern as well as the frustrations that you may be experiencing. Please stay focused on facts and guidance from the proper officials during this time. Our risk in Ventura County is still very low and hopefully will remain that way with safety measures that are being taken.

La salud y el buenestar de nuestros niños y empleados son una prioridad para el Boys & Girls Club de Greater Ventura. Debido a eso, hemos estad monitoreando de cerca el problema de salud del Coronavirus (COVID-19) durante las últimas semanas. El Centro para el Control de Enfermedades ha calificado oficialmente al virus COVID-19 como una pandemia. El Dr. Levin, Oficial de Salud de Salud Pública del Condado de Ventura, ha declarado una emergencia de salud local y ha recomendado un distanciamiento social de 6 pies. Ayer, el  Districto Escolar de Ventura anunió que cerrarán las escuelas del 16 de marzo al 10 de abril en un esfuerzo por frenar la propagació del virus.

El Boys & Girls Club de Greater Ventura también estarán cerradas para los miembros y otros socios comunitarios o grupos de uso de instalaciones del 16 de marzo al 10 de abril para maximizar los esfuerzos del distrito escolar y mantener seguros a nuestros niños y la comunidad. El distanciamiento social de los niños es una tarea casi imposible. No tomamos la decisión de cerrar a la ligera y nos damos cuenta de los importantes desafíos que esto presentará para muchos de nosotros. Entendemos el elevado nivel de preocupación, así como las frustraciones que pueden estar experimentando. Por favor, manténgase enfocado en los hechos y la orientación de los funcionarios adecuados durante este tiempo.   10. How Can You Access and Correct Your Information? You may request access to all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain in our database by emailing us using the contact form provided to you within the site structure of our website.

Donation Refund Policy

We are grateful for your donation and support of our organization. If you have made an error in making your donation or change your mind about contributing to our organization please contact us. Refunds are returned using the original method of payment. If you made your donation by credit card, your refund will be credited to that same credit card.

Automated Recurring Donation Cancellation

Ongoing support is important to enabling projects to continue their work, so we encourage donors to continue to contribute to projects over time. But if you must cancel your recurring donation, please notify us.
